While helping one of my music clients from Miami with his Digital promotion I am realizing that Facebook does not allow load up of digital stores in mobile browsers. Asking my self if this is for all F-Commerce stores, music or non-music related? Or does this only happen with Androids?
My client is an avid Instagram user so I suggested to include the link of his newly set-up Nimbit facebook store in his Instagram profile, which we did with a domain forwarder. To our surprise despite of the link, Facebook apparently has no functionality for this feature as it redirects the visitor to a default Mobile Page with no link to the Nimbit Facebook Store. Which its a shame because huge social momentum is lost for the musician. In this particular case, when somebody clicks on the Instagram link and then is not able to “LIKE” the musician for his friends to see. Instead we had to redirect to the Nimbit hosted store which has no Social functionality.
Mobile Commerce (M-Commerce) or Facebook Commerce (F-Commerce) is still in its infancy for Musicians. I actually did a test for 2 other bands, one in Topspin and the other one in Bandcamp and both seem to have the same problem with Facebook.
Whichever the case I am monitoring all of these functionality as there is no doubt that the future of monetary transactions for Independent Bands will reside on the Mobile Sphere.

Thanks for this informative blog post. Nimbit’s Facebook store is a Facebook application. Facebook’s mobile applications will not run within Facebook’s mobile apps.
When you have a Nimbit account, you also get a storefront on nimbitmusic.com and those stores will run on Mobile browsers.
Have a look at your friend’s store here:

Nimbit’s promo tool allows you to choose which store you redeem your promotional links on. So if you’re promoting a track on Facebook, you can still point people to your Nimbit web store or your NimbitMusic store. I would suggest that in the future, until Facebook addresses this limitation in their mobile apps, that you point people to the NimbitMusic store.
Hope this was helpful.
